This morning, Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, announced his move from the Democratic Party to Forum for Democratic Change. This came as a shock to very many people as Lukwago was always looked at as a die heard of DP.

In a statement today, he has said that he has not joined FDC as schemer or someone with ill intention. He made the remarks during a function where he was officially unveiled by the party president Patrick Amuriat as a member.

“There are those charlatans that are ill bent on maligning me. I am a seasoned politician but not a seasonal one. I have taken this decision to join FDC as a seasoned politician but not a seasonal one,”he said.

” I am at peace with my conscience, my heart and  my soul. In good and bad times, sickness and health, swallowing teargas and watermelon, we shall always be together,”he added

Lukwago said it is the gun that is responsible for the crisis that the people of Uganda  are facing today as It was described by Dr.Besigye in his book as the unfinished business.

“It is our responsibility to finish that business. I am not here because I have come to scheme anything. I have not come to FDC as a fortune hunter. I have not come here for a meal card,”he said.

He urged members of color blue family with the FDC ticket not treat it as a meal card.

” I request that you bear with me. I will not go into those issues, the reason why I left DP. What I will focus on is the reason why I joined FDC. My decision has not been informed by the desire to come for anything material,”he said.
