DEFIANT BAZUKULU! Top Immunized Youths Who Oppose Jaja M7 Named

4 Mins read

They are brave and were all immunized against the infamous six killer diseases since the ruling NRM party came to power in 1986.

The Bobi Wine wave that took the world by storm following the Arua by-election fracas seems to have revived anti-Museveni feeling in the opposition especially the youth who feel they share Bobi’s frustrations about the country’s affairs.

Most of these youths have made it a point to express themselves on social media platforms in most cases bashing the state and countering ruling party youth leaders.

Today, we unveil youths who were immunized but have decided to belong to the opposing side of the political divide, before and after Bobi emerged on the political scene.

DOREEN NYANJURA

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party fan base is incomplete without the name NYANJURA DOREEN.

This lady from King Oyo’s land dreams, breathes and lives Kizza Besigye. Her love for the former FDC president, Besigye is unrivalled.

She cut her niche as a political activist while still at university and featured on most anti-Museveni demonstrations. She still does with passion.

Her opposition to Jaja has earned fans in the city who elected her a position as Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) councilor.

Nyanjura jubilated when Mugisha Muntu quit the FDC to form the New Formation saying the party will now have a chance to build itself as a formidable opposition group against the NRM.

MOSES KATENDE

Moses Katende is a member of the Democratic Party (311) and is said to have connections around the globe most especially East Africa.

Moses Katende

Sources say his ties with EALA Speaker and MP, Mukasa Mbidde have enabled him to have a very independent mindset with regard to State affairs. The bespectacled Moses is a very defiant young man who thinks Uganda needs change by all means possible. He is a young man consulting in Public Relations and claims there is no amount of resource that the state can use to manipulate his opinion.

Moses is famously remembered for his role in the controversial KOGIKWATAKO campaign slogan which put the ruling NRM party on edge.

EVELYN KIGONGO

She hails from Mpigi district and is deeply rooted in the Democratic Party that she says has ideas which resonate well with her beliefs.

In the last general election, an ambitious Evelyn plunged herself into the murky political waters of Mpigi district where she came third with 8538 votes.

Evelyn Kigongo

Evelyn runs an NGO, Change A Girl Uganda, that seeks to advocate for the rights of the girl child by reaching out to the disadvantaged.

CHANGU brings together diverse voices and interests to drive progress for gender equality, with a particular focus on maternal, sexual, and reproductive health and rights.

The organisation is among the first organizations to promote the investment case for girls.

Although she has been linked to Mugisha Muntu’s New Formation, Evelyn’s opposition to Jaja is well documented.

She was an active participant in Buganda’s Nkobazambogo and Uganda Young Democrats activities while maintaining a similar role in her parish church.

ANNA ADEKE EBAJU

Ebaju is the female youth Member of Parliament and her opposition to the Museveni and the NRM can be traced to her university days where she became Makerere University Guild President while professing her disdain for the NRM.

Although she is a member of the opposition FDC, sources in the party have always claimed that she belonged to the faction that pledges allegiance to Muntu.

Ann Adeke

During the launch of the New Formation, Ebaju appeared to remove all doubt about where she lies by attending the event at Hotel Africanna.

Asked what inspires her opposition to Museveni, Adeke says it is a cocktail of issues.

“Well; I have no problem with Museveni; I just think he has run down our country compared to the time he has spent in office. I think institutions should have been stronger but his governance style prefers strongmen to strong institution. This has made it difficult for people to thrive based on merit,” she said.

The youthful lawmaker added, “I believe that his has run his course and should ceed power for many reasons; He has respectfully run his course and should recognize that the younger generation has a new vision different from the Bush war vision. We need a country where people can thrive whether they are politically privileged or not; a chance for an equal and just society. He does not provide these.”

FREDDIE MAKAKA

Makaka has been a member of the opposition for eon years and seems to have raised his antenna during the Bobi Wine wave.

Freddie Makaka

Makaka who is known in youth politics in the country, recently penned a book critical of Museveni. The book did not see the light of day as its launch is said to be have been blocked. He has been an ardent supporter of People Power movement seen through his hard hitting posts against the government. It is not known where he is but sources say he could be out of the country afraid to return due to his political beliefs.

Freddie was groomed by DP’s Uganda Young Democrats during its hey days at university.

APOLLO SANDY RANDY

He comes from the hotspot Rwenzururu region. Sandy who served as Mugisha Muntu’s PA while still in the FDC contested in the last general elections for an MP seat but lost to Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere’s brother, Christopher Kibanzanga in Bughendera.
