The NRM 1st Vice Chairman, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo has urged coordinators in the Office of the National Chairman to be of good character in execution of their duties.

Kigongo made the remarks on Thursday morning while addressing the regional coordinators from across the country.

The coordinators were undergoing orientation on the tasks they are set to undertake in ensuring implementation of government programs.

“Good personal character is a virtue that should always guide our direction. The public is going to weigh your character and what you put out. Avoid lies and don’t talk about something you don’t know,” Kigongo who closed the 3-day orientation said.

He added, “You are going to be our eyes in the implementation of the movement manifesto. If you have issues, do not mix them with our movement.”

Kigongo also challenged the coordinators to engage in research in order for them to have refined arguments with the people they will be interacting with.

“Undertaking political engagements without research is like riding a dead horse. Research helps you to make informed decisions and nor guess work,” he said.

According to Ms Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Head of ONC, the coordinators are tasked with ensuring that President Yoweri Museveni’s promises to the people reach their intended target.

They will be required to monitor penetration of vaccination coverage across the country, education and why some disadvantaged people do not access education which is universal and to identify people with land to act as models in President Museveni’s grand plan for modernisation of agriculture.

This will include following up on the implementation of the Parish Development Model.
