Busoga Hails Political, Religious Leaders For Reconciliation

Busoga Kingdom’s First Deputy Katikkiro Prof. Dr. Muhamadi Lubega Kisambira has thanked political leaders for recommitting themselves to work for a united prosperous Busoga.

He applauded them for rallying the entire Busoga population, to end the endemic disunity that had adversely engulfed and stunted the progress of Busoga sub-region.

Speaking today during a press conference organised by Busoga Consortium for Development at Civil Service College of Uganda, in Jinja City, Lubega said Busoga political leaders rededicated themselves to the service of Busoga and her people and have reconciled.  

He said Busoga Consortium organised a prayer week that started on Monday 25th to 31st July, 2022 led by various religious leaders.

He said the prayer week which climaxed on Sunday at Iganga Municipal Council primary school, was successfully achieved.

He said the prayer week was launched by Busoga Consortium for Development together with Obwa Kyabazinga Bwa Busoga and thanked the people of Busoga, the religious leaders of Busoga and political leaders of Busoga for the successful week long prayer.

Prof. Lubega thanked the inter-religious council and political leadership of Busoga for seeking God’s intervention in reconciling Busoga and Basoga.

He appreciated the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni for honouring their invitation and the initiative to reconcile Busoga with God.

Prof. Lubega also appreciated the presence and goodwill of the Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja at the conclusion of the prayer week held at Iganga Municipal Council primary school.

He acknowledged the goodwill and support of Her Excellency the Vice President of Uganda Maj (rtd) Jessica Alupo and her interest to support Busoga development.

He said the prayer week created a moment of reflection, facilitated reconciliation and deepened cohesion among the Basoga and her political leaders.

A solemn commitment was made by all political leaders from all political actors to use every available avenue and opportunity to transform Busoga to prosperity.

Busoga Kingdom’s second deputy Katuukiro, Owek. Osman Ahmed Noor, said His Majesty Isebantu Kyabazinga of Busoga rededicated his Kingdom and his people back to God after seeking God’s healing of himself, his people, his land, Busoga resources and Busoga’s wealth of God’s divine renewal.

Owek. Osman thanked the First Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Dr. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, the Third Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Rukia Isanga Nakadama, the Minister for General Duties Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba, the Minister for the Presidency Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, the Vice Chairperson of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Salaamu Musumba, the Kamuli Municipality MP Hon. Baroda Kayanga Watongola, the Iganga Municipality MP Hon. Peter Mugema, the chairperson Busoga Parliamentary Caucus Hon. Stephen Kisa, the Kigulu South MP Hon. Milton Muwuma, the Iganga district Woman MP Hon. Sauda Alibawo and the Namutumba district Woman MP Hon. Naigaga Mariam, who all reconciled together and prayed for the reconciliation of Busoga.
