President Yoweri Museveni has warned the UPDF Counter Terrorism Commandos against what he terms ‘cowboyism’ if they are to succeed in their careers.

Museveni watching counter-terrorism officers undertake their military and combat drills at the UPDF School of Military Intelligence and Security in Migyera, Nakasongola.

Museveni sounded the warning on Friday during the pass out of 171 Counter Terrorism warriors under the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence in Nakasongola.

“One element about fighting is to be sure of yourself. When you are confident in yourself, you can handle any combat situation,” Museveni said.

The commandos are  trained in fighting in built-up areas, in air, under very strenuous circumstances using both small arms and heavy weapons, at short and long distances thereby leaving no room for the enemy to escape, the UPDF spokesperson, Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso said.
