“If you want to be a presidential or parliamentary candidate, you must fill the form and return it to the party headquarters and hand it to the electoral commission of the party,” said Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the party president.

While addressing the media at the party headquarters, Amuriat also advised  the  aspirants for city mayor and LC V to submit their expression of  interest to the party headquarters.

He said the current party office bearers  will retain their positions for the meantime since the party can’t hold an election during this period because of covid19.

He also said the party primaries will be held between July and August this year.

Amuriat also accused president Museveni and his party for hijacking the electoral commission mandate to print the ballot papers secretly.
“He has secretly taken over the printing of ballot papers from the electrol commission.we are also aware that Museveni secretly contracted a German company to do the job,” he said.

Amuriat also advised president Museveni to go for self quarantine since he has been interacting and chairing many meetings during this period.
“He should not be moving around charing meetings, the place for him is now is self isolation somewhere in his house,” he said.

He urged Ugandans who have resumed work to observe all the precautionary measures to avert covid19.

Meanwhile the FDC National Taskforce that was established to collect relief items for the flood victims of Kasese district has on Monday delivered the first batch of relief consignment to the leadership of Kasese District to help the people who were affected by floods.
Among the consignment of relief items handed over included,300 blankets, assortment of clothes, tupoline, shoes, bed shits, Maize flour among others.

The  Taskforce Chairperson also handed over 20 million shillings cash donated by the Party.

The relief support were collected from the  Party members, People’s Government, Leader of Oppositions office and the people of good will to help the people of Kasese who were affected by the floods.

The relief consignment follows the Leader of opposition Rt. Hon. Betty Aol Ochan’s visit last month to the district as she inspected the areas and assessed the impact caused by the calamity.
