Muntu Quits FDC

1 Mins read

Former FDC President, Rtd Gen Mugisha Muntu has announced that he has quit Forum for Democratic Change Party with immediate effect.

Muntu’s departure from FDC comes after he held a meeting that ended prematurely with FDC president Patrick Amuriat.

The meeting held at Fairway hotel was cut short when a group of rowdy youth disrupted the meet.

“A section of the youth are against this meeting, what we need to appreciate is that Muntu’s activities were not sanctioned by the party,” Amuriat said before being whisked away by the youth.

In a statement that is circulating on Social Media, Muntu says through his consultations, he was advised to quit FDC.

Fellow Ugandans, following our nationwide consultations that were carried out between 15/1/2018 and 7/9/2018, I today held a meeting with party president of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Hon. Patrick Oboi Amuriat to discuss our findings and resolutions.

I hereby would like to inform the country of our decision to leave the FDC with immediate effect.

We will be holding a press conference on Thursday the 27 th of September 2018 to discuss this and our future plans in detail.

God bless you all.

Maj. Gen. (rtd) Mugisha Muntu
