Inspector General of Police Okoth Ochola has dissolved the Flying Squad Unit and their boss ACP Herbert Muhangi has been taken to the General duties office.
Other members of the squad have been told to report to CID offices for deployment into other police departments.
In other reshuffles, Special Investigations Unit (SIU) gets a new Deputy Director who is SCP Womanya Elly.
SCP Womanya Elly was in the Interpol police.
Former Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Deputy Director SSP Odong Mark is now boss of Organised Crimes Department.
CP Sagal Abraham was also transferred from IGP’s office to Interpol.
Flying Squad has been known for trailing and cracking down highly trained criminals with the recent crackdown being the case in which the former Daily Monitor accountant was brutally killed and dropped in a Pit latrine by his wife and kids.
