Sage Buyers Introduces Hire Purchase Plan And App Discounts, Making Apple Devices More Accessible to Ugandans

Sage Buyers, Uganda’s trusted destination for genuine Apple products, has announced a hire purchase offer designed to give more customers immediate access to the latest devices without the pressure of paying the full cost upfront through their app or website or by visiting their store at the Cube, Kisementi, Level 1, Shop 131.

This literally makes Sage Buyers the first Apple store or Phone store to have an app, and a website that combines a variety of features including a swap calculator, hire purchase function and exclusive deals in Uganda.

Under the new arrangement, customers are required to pay only 60% of the device price at the point of purchase, take their phone home that same day, and clear the remaining balance over a period of four months.

The offer requires minimal documentation. Customers need to only present a valid copy of their national identification card alongside their 60% deposit to walk out of a Sage Buyers store with a brand new device in hand.

For many Ugandans, the cost of a new smartphone, particularly within Apple’s premium lineup,  has historically meant either a long savings period or settling for a lesser device.

Sage Buyers’ hire purchase offering is positioned to change that reality, allowing customers to own and use a genuine, current-generation Apple product from day one while managing the full cost in manageable installments.

The structure of the offer is straightforward. A customer interested in a device priced at UGX 3,000,000, for instance, would pay UGX 1,800,000 on the day of purchase and settle the remaining balance with interest spread across four months, without navigating complex credit assessments or lengthy approval processes. The emphasis, the company says, is on keeping the experience simple and dignified.

Dr. Stanley Ssempijja, Team Lead, Sage Buyers at the store in Kisementi

“We have always believed that owning a quality device should not be a privilege reserved for the few. This hire purchase plan reflects our commitment to meeting our customers where they are, making it possible for anyone to upgrade today and manage the investment at a pace that works for them. All we need from you is your national ID and 60% down. The rest, we will work out together,” said Dr. Stanley Ssempijja, Team Lead, Sage Buyers

The Sage Buyers App: Shop Smarter, Save More

Separately from the hire purchase arrangement, Sage Buyers is also rewarding customers who choose to shop through the Sage Buyers mobile app. App users are currently eligible for exclusive discounts on selected products, an incentive the company has introduced to encourage adoption of the platform and enhance the overall shopping experience for its growing digital customer base.

The app, available for free on the Apple App Store, and the Play Store, offers a streamlined retail experience with features including AI-powered product recommendations, a hire purchase calculator, cart management, and flexible checkout options. Recent updates have also improved reliability for Google and Apple sign-in, as well as enhanced support for dark mode displays.

It is worth noting that the app discounts are a separate benefit from the hire purchase offer. Customers can take advantage of one, or both depending on their individual needs.

How to Get Started

Customers interested in the hire purchase plan can visit the Sage Buyers outlet at The Cube in Kisementi and speak with a member of the team. Those who prefer to start the process digitally can download the Sage Buyers app from the Apple App Store at apps.apple.com/ug/app/sage-buyers/id6748094542, or visit the company’s website at sagebuyers.com for more information.
