Tanzanian music icons Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have reportedly tied the knot in a private Islamic wedding ceremony, known as a Nikkah. The couple, whose on-and-off relationship has been a subject of public interest, are said to have formalized their union away from the public eye.
While the artists themselves have not officially confirmed the marriage, reports suggest that the ceremony took place recently, marking a significant milestone in their relationship. Diamond Platnumz, born Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, is the founder and CEO of WCB Wasafi, the record label to which Zuchu, born Zuhura Othman Soud, is signed.
The pair’s relationship has been characterized by public declarations and subsequent denials. In November 2024, Zuchu announced their breakup, stating that the decision was mutual and that she was focusing on healing and her career . Despite the split, the two continued to collaborate professionally, leading to ongoing speculation about their personal relationship.
Family reactions to their relationship have been mixed. Zuchu’s mother, renowned Taarab singer Khadija Kopa, has previously expressed skepticism about the seriousness of Diamond’s intentions, emphasizing the importance of formal dowry proceedings in their culture .
As of now, neither Diamond Platnumz nor Zuchu have made public statements regarding the reported marriage.
