The ruling NRM district conference in Dokolo district has reasserted their support for Janet Adongo Rose Alau as the party’s flag bearer in the upcoming heated district Woman Member of Parliament race to succeed the late Cecilia Ogwal.
Adongo previously carried the NRM flag during the 2021 general elections.
Delegates convened at Dokolo Technical School in Dokolo Town council to affirm their support for Adongo.
Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, the NRM deputy Secretary General, commended Dokolo party members for rallying behind the flag bearer and emphasized the importance of unity within the party.
Namayanja urged potential independent candidates to support Adongo and contribute to the NRM’s agenda in parliament.
She highlighted Adongo’s commitment to working with constituency MPs and the government to deliver services to the people of Dokolo.
Additionally, Namayanja encouraged voters to support candidates from the ruling party who can accelerate the implementation of government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM).
Hon. Rosemary Seninde, the director of Mobilisation, expressed gratitude to those who initially expressed interest in the Dokolo seat but later withdrew to promote political harmony within the NRM.
Seninde emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork within the party and assured members that the NRM remains committed to serving the people’s interests.
She urged Adongo to prioritize the welfare of Dokolo’s residents if elected and emphasized the importance of diligence and commitment in serving the constituents.

The nomination of candidates by the Independent Electoral Commission is scheduled for the 10th and 11th of March, with campaigns commencing from the 13th to the 19th of March 2024.
