Police in Kitagwenda District are investigating the circumstances under which, 45-year-old John Kato, a resident of Kyembogo Village Kamayenje parish Nyabbani sub-county was killed after a bar fight.
It is alleged at around 3am on Sunday the deceased had a fight with Joshua Musinguzi and Didas Ariganyira, both residents of Kamayenje Parish in a bar belonging to Tumusiime Kamantu in Kanyinya trading center.
After the fight, Kamantu asked the group to leave. However, the two men reportedly followed Kato on his way home.
Residents suspect that the dou killed Kato and dumped his body in his compound.
Kato’s wife found his lifeless body lying in a pool of blood at around 05:00am after she heard something knocking at their door.
Justus Turyashemererwa, a resident of Kanyinya trading center said that although they have not yet established the cause of the fight, Mucunguzi and Ariganyira have always been violent and often start fights in different bars.
Henry Mugarura, the Kitagwenda District Police Commander, says that they have already arrested some suspects to help police investigations into the matter.
He says that they handed over the deceased’s body to Ntara Health Center IV for postmortem
