Five Killed In Kampala As Truck Rams Into Boda Boda Riders

Five people have been killed and seven injured in an accident in Kampala.

The crash happened on Thursday at Kabuusu roundabout in Rubaga Division.

According to Faridah Nampiima, the Traffic Spokesperson, a truck rammed into Boda Boda riders at 8:30 am. She identified the dead as Gerald Ssemata, Semei Ndondo, and another only identified as Ssenfuma, all Boda Boda riders.

She adds that another person Florence Nansubuga, a passenger on one of the Boda Bodas was also killed. Police are yet to identify the fifth victim.

According to Nampiima, the driver of the Isuzu ELF truck registration number UNH321T, Gerald Ssembatya, lost control while coming from Rubaga road and rammed into the motorcycles and bicycles that were entering the Kabusu roundabout.

The injured have been rushed to Mulago Hospital.
