Gen Muhoozi Confirms UPDF Repulsed Congo Rebels Who Attacked Army Unit In Zombo

The Commander of Land Forces, Lt General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has confirmed reports that the Ugandan army repulsed rebels from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who attacked an army unit in the country.

According to Gen Muhoozi, the rebels from the CODECO (Cooperation for the Development of Congo), attacked an army unit in Zeu, Zombo district in West Nile on Friday morning, but were repulsed.

“Yes, our unit in Zeu, Zombo District was attacked by Congolese rebels called CODECO (Cooperation for the Development of Congo). Our boys performed brilliantly and repulsed the attackers,” Lt Gen Muhoozi said.

According to reports, at least five rebels were killed and one gun was recovered.

CODECO is a rebel formation made up of Alur and Lendu fighters.
