Land Forces commander of Uganda Peoples Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda for a three-day visit, Ug Mirror reports.
Gen Muhoozi is expected to meet president Kagame and other officials in a bid to fully restore the Uganda Rwanda relations.
Gen Muhoozi was received by Uganda’s Deputy Ambassador to Rwanda, Anne Katusiime, Brig Gen Willy Rwagasana, the Commander of Rwanda’s Republican Guard and Col. Ronald Rwivanga, Rwanda Defence Force Spokesperson.
It is worth noting that on January 22, 2022 Gen Muhoozi met with President Kagame in Kigali and there after the President Kagame agreed to open the Katuna border that had been closed for three years.
The two countries have been engaged in a cold war of sorts since Rwanda closed its border with Uganda in 2019.
