FDC’s Amuriat Charged With Seating On Top Of His Car, Granted Bail

Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate, Patrick Amuriat Oboi was yesterday arraigned before Kakumiro Grade One Magistrate Court and charged with seating on top of his car.

His driver, Michael Emorut was charged with reckless driving.

The two were later granted a none cash bail of Shs500,000 after they pleaded not guilty of the charges before magistrate Abdallah Kayiiza.

They will report to court on 3rd February 2021.

Earlier, Patrick Amuriat Oboi and his campaign team were intercepted at Kasalaba in Buyanja county East, Kibaale District.

They were arrested by Joint Anti-terrorism squad under the command of regional Police Commander SP Obura and later taken to Kakumiro Central Police Station from where he was arraigned before court at 7:30pm.

Uganda heads to the polls on Thursday 14th January 2021 to vote the next president.

The tight race is between NRM’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who has been in power for the last 34years and a youthful Kyadondo East legislator and musician, Bobi Wine.

Others in the race FDC’s Patrick Amuriat Oboi, DP’s Nobert Mao, ANT’s Mugisha Muntu, then independents include, 24 year old John Katumba, Rtd Let Gen Henry Tumukunde, Nancy Kalembe, Willy Mayambala, Joseph Kabuleta among others
