Muntu Pledges To Boost Agriculture In Bugisu Region If Elected President

The Alliance for National Transportation presidential candidate Rtd Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu has promised to establish a national insurance health scheme and agricultural banks to aid farmers in Bugisu region.

Muntu made the remarks while on his campaign trail in Mbale and Sironko districts over the weekend.

Muntu who started with prayers at St. Peters Cathedral, talked to mechanics in Industrial area, Mbale and promised them a better Uganda once he gets into leadership come 2021.

Muntu pledged to promote arts, innovation, and domestic industries in a bid to address the unemployment question.

He promised to lift the locals from poverty, fix roads, provide clean drinking water, and lift the standards of education.

“We must always remember that leadership cannot be a one-man show. Uganda needs all her branches to thrive. Our party recognises this. And that is why in both speech and deeds, we have dedicated ourselves to working with all change forces in the country to build a Uganda that works for everyone.  Putting country before self isn’t simply our mantra,” he said.

“We were in the movement system before it became a party, we separated when they started the party, because we knew the problems already there. Gen. Museveni cannot stand someone who can say we are in the same party, but here we have crossed the line. He wants to work with only those who will say yes to everything he says,” Muntu added.

Muntu said there is need to change the mindset of Ugandans about the incumbent regime.

He told his supporters that Museveni’s government has worked tirelessly to fail institutions in the country.

Muntu blamed Museveni’s overstay in power for the rampant corruption in the country.
