UNRA Shuts Jinja Offices Over COVID-19

Uganda National Road Authority has temporarily closed is offices in Jinja after some of their staff tested positive for COVID-19.

“Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) informs the general public and particularly our Clients at the Jinja Offices located on Plot 68-76 Nile Crescent road, of the confirmation of two (02) cases of COVID-19,” reads the statement issued by UNRA management.

The statement further reads that; “The cases are part of the 107 samples taken on Wednesday 26′ August 2020. Subsequently, the offices are temporarily closed from today (31′ August) to Thursday 03′ September 2020 to facilitate contract tracing exercise and allow sufficient safety precautions including disinfection of the premises.

“For purposes of business continuity and other needed services in Jinja during the temporary closure, kindly contact Eng. Oleja Albert (Regional Manager-East) on + 256772 666345 for assistance.”

Currently, Uganda has cumulative total of 2,928 confirmed of cases.

COVID-19 death toll in Uganda stands at 30.
