Uganda Gets First Coronavirus Death Case in Mbale, Ministry of Health Confirms

Ministry of Health has confirmed that the death that occurred yesterday that it was previously investigating of a 34-year-old female who passed away   at a Clinic in Mbale in indeed a COVID-19 case.

The deceased, is a Kenyan national married to a Ugandan. This means that Uganda has confirmed her first Covid19 death.

According to the Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the deceased had been admitted with COVID-19 related symptoms that included fever, headache and difficulty in breathing.

Samples were obtained from the body and are were tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute UVRI in Entebbe and these have turned out positive of the deadly virus.

Since the outbreak of the virus in Uganda in March, Uganda had not recorded a single Covid19 death.
