For a few days now, many people have been confused by the difference between a mall and an arcade and this has brought a lot of commotion as to what the President opened.
The minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Amelia Kyambadde has come out and explained the difference between a mall and an arcade as businesses resume operations.
While shopping malls will be allowed to open, arcades will stay closed until further notice.
Below are the differences between a mall and an arcade, according to Kyambadde.
According to the Minister, a mall has ample and convinient space for packing while an arcade is congested and lacks convinient packing.
Examples of malls in Kampala, include Acacia Mall, Village Mall, Imperial Mall, Metroplex Mall, Oasi Mall, Garden City Mall and Kingdom Kampala Mall.

Arcades include Mutaasa Kafeero, Ggaliraaya, Energy Center, Kizito Arcade, Arua Park Arcade, Nalubwama Arcade.
