3 More Cases Of COVID – 19 Confirmed, Uganda Stands At 88

Uganda has today confirmed 3 more cases of COVID – 19, Ug Mirror reports.

Out of 1,922 samples of truck drivers tested, 1 Kenyan and 1 Burundian driver who arrived via Malaba tested positive.

One out of 562 samples from the community, 22-year-old Ugandan male from Rakai District also tested positive for COVID – 19.

He entered Uganda from Bukoba, Tanzania via a porous border.

He is currently staying at home with his parents and efforts to evacuate him to Masaka RRH and quarantine his parents are underway.

Tracing of Kenyan and Burundian truck drivers is also underway.

Uganda now has a Total of 88 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

It should be noted that another community case was reported yesterday in Masindi.

The Masindi case is a 29-year-old police man who was in charge of enforcing curfew in the district.

He was residing in the police barracks at the time of test.

He has since been admitted to Hoima RRH.

The police barracks has been cordoned off to curb spread of COVID-19.

President Museveni is expected on Monday next week to announce more measures on how to prevent the spread of COVID – 19
