No Political Party is Better Than People’s Government — Betty Nambooze

1 Mins read

Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament, Betty Nambooze has explained the reasons why   Dr. Kizza Besigye’s People’s Government at the moment is stronger than all the political parties in Uganda.

“There is no single political institution in Uganda other than FDC that doesn’t survive because of one big man. FDC can survive without Besigye, other entities can’t live to see another day without one individual,” she said.

Nambooze said unlike other political parties, the People’s Government is fully structured right from the local government and that explains her statement.

“People’s Government is fully structured right from the local government. No single opposition entity today is strong and well organized as the People’s Government,” she said in part.

She made the remarks while appearing on NBS Morning Breeze, on Monday.

She further said that they have also attracted ‘big’ people from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) yet they have not lost anyone to their ‘enemy’ yet.

“In a full year, we’ve not had any defection from the People’s Government to the side of the enemy, we’ve been joined by very big people from the enemy to the People’s Government,” she said.

Nambooze said that People’s Government and FDC phased their struggle into three different parts which they have followed all through the year.

“We phased our struggle into three parts; Campaign for attitude change among Ugandans so that they appreciate the problem at hand, organise structures to sustain the struggle and Action to demobilize and dismantle the dictatorship.  Our mission is to put power back in the hands of the people,” she said.

Nambooze said that one of their achievements is the fact that the opposition is still intact and the struggle to capture power is still going on until Ugandans are released from what she described as captivity.
