Over 2 people Feared Dead As YY bus Overturns in Iganga

Today evening, YY coach travelling to Mbale overturned in Busei, Iganga district and over 2 people are feared dead.

Eye witnesses say that the driver of the bus registration number UAQ 906T was driving at breakneck speed and lost control hence overturning.

On social media, someone had already complained that the speed of the bus was alarming.

“I am travelling now but worried whether we get to our destination because the speed is alarming,” posted Mwanja

Another concerned citizen after the accident secured a child whose mother had perished in the accident.

“This child’s mother has perished in the accident where YY bus overturned in Busei, Iganga district. If you know this child, please check with Nakalama police post.”

Dear our esteemed customers this is to update you about the tragic accident, which occurred August 12, 2019 at 16.05hrs at Iganga involving our bus UAQ 906T.

We lost two passengers on spot while others were rushed to Iganga hospital.

We can now confirm that most of the accident victims have been discharged while 7 are still receiving treatment and hopefully tomorrow will also be discharged.

Our team is still at Iganga hospital to ensure the injured passengers receive the necessary support.

We deeply apologize for the accident and pledge to do our level best to ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers.
