The proceedings of the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) were unceremoniously adjourned after fire broke out in the ceiling of the conference hall in which it had convened.
Legislators ran for dear life as Police firefighters put out the fire.
The committee had convened to investigate the fraudulent acquisition of properties of the departed Asians by some well connected people in government.
The committee that was chaired by Makindye East legislator Ibrahim Kasozi that had just started grilling the officials from the Attorney General’s office.
