Nakasongola Residents Share Water With Animals

Residents of Nakasongola district are currently facing crisis of clean and safe water as they encounter challenges of obtaining clean water for domestic use

This challenge has cropped due to the high intense drought that has made clean water scarce in the area.

Wells have gone dry and people have resorted to sharing water with domestic and wild animals which will cause a big impact in their lives which include contracting water diseases like diarrhoea diseases among others.

Residents urge government to extend water projects to their area to curb this challenge as they are living in fear of suffering from diseases got through drinking dirty water.

Getting water in Nakasongola district, one needs to move a long distance which is like 5km in order to access water.

Through a phone interview with the state minister of water Hon Kibuule Ronald assured the residents of Nakasongola district that water problem will be solved with immediate effect

” We understand the current situation in Nakasongola but we shall handle the situation in the shortest period possible” he added

Of recent, Hon Kibuule Ronald was in some of Western districts which include Kasese, Kamwenge, Kyenjojo and Kabarole where he was opening water projects aimed at extending and providing clean, safe water.

In the other hand, Kween district is currently also facing the same challenge of clean water.
