Over 5 boats impounded at Masese landing site

Over 5 boats were impounded on Sunday December 09, 2018 at Masese landing site inJinja due to lack of life jackets and over loading.

This comes after a national tragedy that hit the country few weeks ago leaving the nation in shock when boat cruise that was carrying party revellers capsized in Lake Victoria and more than 30 died.

Many safety measures have been put in place to prevent the similar incident more especially for the passengers.

 On Sunday UPDF carried out an operation at Masese landing site in Jinja and impounded over 5 loaded boats and arrested passengers who had no life jackets.
