1 Mins read

Over 60 young artistes graduated in various disciplines from ESOM School of music last Friday at the Kolping Hotel Makerere.

Fagil Mande who has featured in the homegrown version of the TV drama ‘Second Chance’ advised graduates to discover themselves and not copy any one if they are to impact the world fully.

Monday said no big star has ever made a name and impacted the world using a pseudo name so the first thing artistes should do is be proud of and retain their original names besides working on their trademark constantly to add value to it.

The event was graced by other big names in the arts and music industry including Andrew Benon Kibuka aka Hajji Bumali the President of Uganda Performing Artistes Association who urged young artistes to be enterprising and take advantage of all emerging opportunities in their sector.

Guests who filled the one hundred plus seater hall to capacity were entertained by ESOM band which did covers for a number of popular songs, various Ugandan traditional dances on top of a few original jazz pieces put together by the band largely composed of graduates and current students of ESOM School of music.

Afrigo band honcho and local music legend Moses Matovu, leading music Producer Rinex and Madder Kayz who has worked with a number of big names like Chameloene were some of the other guests on at occasion.
