Former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura has finally been arrested.
Kayihura was picked from his Lyantonde home where he has been staying ever since he was sacked months ago.
Sources say he has been airlifted to Kampala for further interrogation
Yesterday evening, social media was awash with news of the famous General’s arrest.
UPDF breaks silence
General Kale Kayihura Is still a serving officer of the UPDF and has been staying in Kashagama – Lyantonde District since 15 March 2018 after handing over office of Inspector General of Police.
Yesterday 12. June 2018, he was asked to report to the UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi at Gene. Headquarters – Mbuya.
A helicopter was subsequently dispatched to transport him from there but on arrival.
Gen Kale had travelled to Mbarara and so it had to return to Entebbe Airforce Base.
The helicopter was today sent back to Kashagama and has returned safely to Kampala with him on board
