1 Mins read

Former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura has been dragged to court for refusing to retire a police officer.

Through Kiwanuka, Kanyago and company advocates, detective Assistant Inspector of Police (D/AIP) Nelson Mungasa filed a suit at the Civil Division of the High Court.

He says that in 2016 Kayihura blocked his resignation from the force.

“I wrote to Kayihura through the DPC Jinja road Police station seeking to resign from the force in July 2015,” says Mungasa before adding that;

“I wanted to participate in the 2016 general elections but my dreams were shattered by Kayihura who rejected my request.”

Mungasa wanted to contest for Kigenyi county MP seat, Kapchorwa district in 2016

Mungasa now wants court to make Kayihura pay for damages incurred as a result of not standing for the desired political seat.
