Museveni Roots for Team work As Tumwiine Takes Oath

President Yoweri Museveni has called on security personnel and Public Service at large to practice teamwork as a sure way of delivering success in the execution of their duties.

The President made the call yesterday at State House, Entebbe at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Minister of Security Gen. Elly Tumwiine.

“In the security docket the main issue has been teamwork. When you work as a team you benefit from the knowledge of others. People should contribute their ideas and ensure success thereafter. People should not be shy to help each other in terms of management,” he said.

President Museveni, therefore, called on the security heads not to sit and remain silent while wrongs are being committed.

He said that the security sector needs technology adding that there is nothing that the Government cannot acquire to ensure that security organs are enabled to fulfill their duties fully.

The President congratulated Gen. Elly Tumwiine upon his new appointment that was announced a week ago in which he replaced Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde while Gen. Kale Kayihura was replaced by Mr. John Martins Okoth Ochola as Inspector General of Police.

The Prime Minister, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, 1st Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Museveni, the Minister of Public Service, Mr. Muruli Mukasa and Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Jeje Odongo, the Chief Whip, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, the Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, Commander of Air Force, Maj. Gen. Charles Lutaaya and Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Assan Kasingye, attended the ceremony that was conducted by the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Mr. John Mitala.
