Detained Police Officers Nixon, Aguma Denied Bail Again

Police Professional Standards Unit (PSU) boss Joel Aguma and Nixon Agasirwe, who is former head of Uganda Police Special Operations Unit have again been denied bail by Makindye court martial.

Court Martial boss Lt Gen. Andrew Gutti opined that the two being high ranking officers, they can use their positions to interfere with the investigations and compromising witnesses.

The other officers who were denied bail include; Abel Tumukunde, Benon Atwebembeire, Abdulnul Ssemujju, Bahati Muhlgenga and Rutagungira.

They have been sent back to Luzira and Makindye Military Police barracks until February 5, 2018.

Though the above were denied bail, three other officers were granted a Shs10million non cash bail.

The bailed officers are Amon Kwarisima, James Magada and Faisal Katende.

The sureties where charged with Shs5million each, not cash.

The bailed junior officers will report to court martial twice a month and are not supposed to go beyond Kampala and Wakiso districts without permission from court.

This website understands that Nixon and his other officers in 2013, unlawfully kidnapped Jackson Kalemera and Lt Joel Mutabazi and forcefully repatriated them to Rwanda
