President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has arrived in Uganda for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two African nations.
President El-Sisi touched down at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday and was received by Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, who represented the Ugandan government in his capacity as Special Envoy for Special Duties in the Office of the President.
The Egyptian leader’s visit comes at a time when Uganda and Egypt continue to deepen cooperation in areas including trade, infrastructure development, agriculture, regional security, energy, and water resource management.

Officials said the visit is expected to feature high-level bilateral engagements between President El-Sisi and Ugandan leaders, with discussions likely to focus on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties, as well as matters of regional importance affecting the African continent.
Egypt and Uganda have in recent years maintained cordial relations under frameworks of African Union cooperation and Nile Basin engagement, with both countries emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and economic integration across the region.
Security was heightened around Entebbe and key routes leading to Kampala ahead of the Egyptian President’s arrival, as government officials and diplomatic representatives gathered to welcome the visiting Head of State.
Further details regarding President El-Sisi’s itinerary and planned meetings are expected to be released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency later in the day.
