The beneficiary, Lucky Kids Academy, located in Bweyogerere, becomes the first school to receive a van as part of the campaign, which rewards schools that actively accept school fees payments through MTN MoMo. The handover reinforces MTN MoMo’s role as a partner in education, supporting both schools and families with practical solutions that address everyday needs.

The MoMo “Win Schoolfees and More” campaign continues to encourage schools to adopt digital payment systems while enabling parents and guardians to pay school fees in a safe, convenient, and reliable way. Through this initiative, schools that register and collect fees using MoMo stand a chance to win a school van, while parents who pay school fees via MoMo are entered into draws to win school fees for a full year.

Speaking at the handover, the Chief Product Officer of MTN MoMo Uganda, Jemima Kariuki, emphasized the importance of supporting education through meaningful and accessible solutions.

“Education plays a central role in shaping the future of our communities. Through this campaign, we are supporting schools that are embracing digital payments and making it easier for parents to meet their school fees obligations. This school van represents practical support that will directly benefit learners and the wider school community,” she said.

She added that MTN MoMo is committed to providing tools that simplify payments while also delivering value to customers.

“Parents and guardians can pay school fees easily using the MoMo App or by dialing *165*80# on their phones. They can also access MoMo School Fees Loans through the same channel when they need financial support. Every transaction gives them an opportunity to win school fees for a full year, while schools continue to benefit from improved payment tracking and more secure cashless systems,” Kariuki noted.

The Principal of Lucky Kids Academy, Nandawula Fatumah Batenda, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the impact of the support on the school.

“This is a very important moment for our school. The van will greatly support our students, especially during co-curricular activities and school programmes. We appreciate MTN MoMo for recognizing schools that are embracing digital payments and for investing in education in a way that has a real and lasting impact on our community.” Batenda said

The MoMo School Fees solution enables parents to pay school fees without the need for cash, while also providing access to financial support through school fees loans. For schools, the platform offers a reliable and transparent system for collecting fees, improving reconciliation, and enhancing overall efficiency.

The handover of the first school van sets the tone for the campaign, which will continue to reward both parents and schools across the country. MTN MoMo remains committed to empowering families, supporting schools, and strengthening access to education through digital financial services.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to pay school fees using the MoMo App or by dialing *165*80# to take part in the campaign. Schools can register to start collecting school fees via MoMo and qualify for upcoming rewards, including additional school vans.
