KIBOGA, UGANDA – A prison warder attached to Kiboga Prison has shot and killed three people, including two of his supervisors, before fleeing the facility, authorities have confirmed.
In a statement issued, the Uganda Prisons Service said the shooting occurred at about 10:00 a.m. when Warder No. 13544 Anguyo Moses allegedly opened fire on his superiors inside the prison premises.
The deceased have been identified as Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine, who served as Deputy Officer in Charge; Principal Officer I Akishuri Bright, the third in command; and Ms. Ayebare Sarah, the spouse of the Officer in Charge.

According to the statement signed by Senior Commissioner of Prisons and Service Spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja, police were immediately notified and secured the scene as joint security teams launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Authorities confirmed that the firearm used in the shooting has been recovered.
However, the suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public have been urged to report any information regarding his whereabouts to the nearest police station.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been disclosed. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
The Uganda Prisons Service said it will provide updates to the public as more details emerge.
