The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has raided an illegal gaming equipment workshop in Kitintale, recovering unfinished slot machines, fish tables and large quantities of spare parts in a renewed crackdown on illicit gambling operations.
The enforcement operation targeted premises linked to an individual previously charged with possession of illegal gaming equipment. Authorities said the suspect is currently on the run.

According to the regulator, the team seized seven incomplete slot machines, 14 sacks of assorted spare parts and 235 motherboards, believed to be intended for assembling illegal gaming machines for distribution across the country.
The Board said the raid forms part of ongoing nationwide enforcement aimed at dismantling illegal gaming supply chains and protecting the integrity of Uganda’s regulated gaming sector.
“NLGRB remains committed to protecting the integrity of Uganda’s gaming industry and safeguarding the public from unlicensed gambling operations,” the regulator said via their X account.
Illegal gaming machines remain a major regulatory challenge, often entering the country disguised as computer components before being assembled locally into functional gambling devices.
The Board has urged members of the public to support enforcement efforts by reporting suspected illegal gaming activities or lodging formal complaints through its toll-free line 0800285800 or via email at info@lgrb.go.ug.
The latest seizure underscores the regulator’s continued push to curb unlawful gambling networks and ensure compliance within Uganda’s fast-growing gaming sector.
