Traffic flow along the Namugoona–Bwaise section of the Northern Bypass is expected to be affected as maintenance works kick off, the Ministry of Works & Transport has announced.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the ministry said preparations are already underway, including the installation of barricades to temporarily close off part of the dual carriageway.
According to the ministry, the measures are intended to create a safe working zone for the contractor while maintaining traffic movement through a designated lane within the work section.
Motorists using the busy stretch have been urged to plan their journeys in advance, strictly follow traffic guidance, observe posted road signs, and reduce speed when approaching the affected area.
The Namugoona–Bwaise corridor is one of the most heavily used sections of the bypass, serving as a key route for traffic connecting different parts of Kampala and beyond. Authorities say the maintenance works are necessary to improve road safety and extend the lifespan of the highway.
