Kampala’s party scene lit up over the weekend as the Rhythm & Brunch Kampala Edition took over the Kati Kati Grounds, treating revellers to a night of pure 90s and 2000s R&B magic. Organized by Social Ghana Experiences in partnership with The Reminisce, the event featured an international DJ line-up and was proudly sponsored by Stanbic Bank through its Flexipay platform.
The star-studded roster included UK’s Jonny Stone and Handsome Fella, Ghana’s DJ Slybeatz and Temple XTD, and Uganda’s own Timothy Code, DJ Bryan, and Crysto the DJ. True to the theme, the rule was simple: No Amapiano. No Afrobeats. Just Old School R&B.
Adding to the excitement was Flexipay Happy Hours, where food, drinks, and merchandise prices dropped significantly during select hours, attracting bigger crowds and boosting the party spirit.
“Seeing so many people relive their favourite R&B moments without worrying about high prices was truly special,” said Joseph Ndoboli, Flexipay Manager. “This is what we mean by more convenience, more fun, and doing what we love for less—perfectly aligned with our purpose: Uganda is our home, we drive her growth.”
The festivities kicked off at 3:00 PM and rolled late into the night, with guests singing, dancing, and reminiscing over the soundtrack of their youth.
For some, like Alinda Brenda, it was a long-awaited experience.
“I have always missed the previous editions, but today I made sure I was here. It was a good idea—I have enjoyed!” she said.
Launched in 2021, Reminisce has evolved from a small gathering into a cross-border sensation, with recent editions staged in Rwanda. This Kampala edition has set a new benchmark for themed parties, leaving revellers counting down to the next installment.
