The Electoral Commission (EC) has set up an interactive information booth at the 31st National Agricultural Show in Jinja City as part of its ongoing voter education campaign ahead of the 2025/2026 General Elections.
According to a statement shared via the EC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, the Commission is engaging with citizens to raise awareness about key electoral processes, including activities targeting Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and the broader national roadmap.
“Our presence at the Agricultural Showgrounds offers an opportunity for citizens to learn more about their civic responsibilities in Uganda’s democratic process,” the statement reads in part.
The show, which is currently underway and runs until 5th July 2025, attracts thousands of visitors daily, providing a strategic platform for the Commission to disseminate vital electoral information.
The EC stall features brochures, infographics, and interactive sessions with officials who are answering questions related to voter registration, polling timelines, and participation of youth, women, persons with disabilities, and other SIGs in the upcoming polls.
The outreach is part of a wider strategy to promote transparency, encourage voter turnout, and ensure an informed electorate as Uganda prepares for its next general elections.
Citizens are encouraged to visit the EC stall to stay updated and play an active role in shaping the country’s democratic future.
