World of Sounds Concert Returns to Kampala with International Headliner

1 Mins read

The World of Sounds concert series is set to return for its second season on August 29 at the Sheraton Hotel Gardens, with organizers teasing the appearance of an international star as the headline act.

Dubbed the R&B edition, the upcoming show promises a night of live music, cultural immersion, and artistic expression. Organizers say this year’s event will build on the momentum of the inaugural concert held on October 6, 2023, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, which featured top local performers including afro-jazz guitarist Myko Ouma, Janzi instrumentalist Sewa Sewa, Jose Sax, and vocalists like Kenneth Mugabi and Joel Sebunjo.

Pop stars Apass, B2C, Steve Keys, and Maurice Kirya also took to the stage during the first edition, but it was a surprise duet between Juliana Kanyomozi and Myko Ouma that stole the show, with the two performing crowd favorites “Sanyu Lyange” and “Diana” to a standing ovation.

While the full lineup for this year’s concert remains under wraps, sources close to the event say fans can expect a major international act to headline the show—marking a first for the World of Sounds series. Organizers have yet to confirm the artist’s identity.

The concert aims to promote alternative creative arts and musical experiences by spotlighting a wide range of genres and talent. With the promise of international flair added to its already diverse program, the August event is expected to draw music lovers from across the region.

Tickets and more event details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
