Bebe Cool Just Broke the Internet and the Chains!!! Juliana Says Ugandan Music Has Never Sounded This Good

1 Mins read

Veteran Ugandan singer Juliana Kanyomozi has praised fellow music icon Bebe Cool’s upcoming album Break the Chains, calling it “the best a Ugandan album has sounded.”

Juliana shared her thoughts in a video released on Monday, following an exclusive listening session with Bebe Cool. The album, slated for release on Friday, May 30, has already sparked conversation in the music industry for its bold shift in sound and musical direction.

“This is the first time we are hearing a Ugandan album sounding this good—sounding really international,” Juliana said. “What has excited me about this sound and Bebe Cool is his ability to sound different. He’s so versatile, and that’s something I admire.”

Juliana, who has known Bebe Cool for over two decades, emphasized the mutual respect between the two artists who have remained relevant in Uganda’s music scene for more than 25 years. “It’s an honor that he invited me to listen to this project. We’ve grown up in this industry together, and we’ve seen each other evolve,” she said.

She revealed that her favorite track from the album is Home, a vibrant, pop-influenced song featuring the signature guitar work of celebrated composer Myko Ouma. According to insiders, Home carries echoes of Bebe Cool’s earlier hit Love You Everyday, with a modern twist and international appeal.

Break the Chains has already generated buzz with the release of two singles—Circumference and Motivation. The first single, Circumference, produced by Nigerian hitmaker Philkeys, dropped on December 13, 2024, and has since sparked debate due to Bebe Cool’s experimental new sound.

Despite the divided opinions, the upcoming album marks a milestone for the artist. Juliana attributes Bebe Cool’s evolution to years of hard work and resilience. “He’s someone who wants to inspire even his fellow artists,” she said.

The album will be available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Tidal, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Boomplay.

As anticipation builds, Break the Chains is poised to be one of the most significant Ugandan music releases of the year.
