Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine and the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has voiced deep concern over the normalization of election rigging in Uganda, stirring distress among the electorate.
Kyagulanyi and his team dedicated their Sunday to campaigning in Dokolo District for their Woman MP candidate, Harriet Ageno.
Acknowledging the warm reception from the people of Dokolo, Kyagulanyi highlighted their shared concerns about election rigging, a pervasive issue in Ugandan politics.
Despite the positive reception in Dokolo and surrounding areas, Kyagulanyi stressed the widespread apprehension among voters regarding electoral irregularities.
During the campaign in Dokolo, Kyagulanyi and the NUP team capitalized on the opportunity to deliver their revolutionary message to the residents of Dokolo and the broader Lango region, advocating for change and addressing systemic challenges within the country.
Kyagulanyi’s remarks underscore the growing awareness and dissatisfaction among Ugandans regarding electoral integrity, emphasizing the imperative for transparent and fair elections to uphold democratic principles in the nation.
The Dokolo by-election, triggered by the vacancy left by the former Woman MP’s passing, has ignited significant political interest and discourse in the district.
With Ageno carrying the NUP flag, the stage is set for a competitive and spirited electoral contest in Dokolo.
The by-election is scheduled to take place next month.
