The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) has taken a significant step in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Engineer Daniel Bbosa.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga announced that five suspects have been arraigned in court in connection with the alleged murder.
The incident, which occurred on February 25, 2024, at Kikandwa village, Lungujja-Rubaga Division, in the Kampala District, has shaken the local community.
The suspects, identified as Lujja Noah, Nakiguli Harriet, Nakabale Joseph, Mayanja Ezra, and Naluwenda Milly, are accused of unlawfully causing the death of Engineer Daniel Bbosa with malice aforethought.
The suspects come from various backgrounds, including masonry, painting, and secretarial work, and hail from different areas within the Kampala region. However, the alleged mastermind behind the murder, Lujja Bbosa Tabula, remains at large, prompting a continued and intensified search effort by law enforcement.
In an effort to expedite the apprehension of Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the CID has extended a bounty offer of Shs 10 million for anyone who can provide credible information leading to his arrest. Citizens are encouraged to contact the CID Headquarters via telephone at 0741111333 or visit in person to provide any relevant information.
Enanga emphasized the commitment of the Joint CI/CID task team to tirelessly pursue justice in this case. The arrest of the alleged mastermind is seen as crucial in unraveling the motive behind the murder, with authorities suggesting a possible connection to a murder-for-hire plot.
The arraignment of the five suspects marks a significant development in the investigation, yet the pursuit of justice for Engineer Daniel Bbosa continues as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to apprehend the remaining suspect.
