Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World during a spectacular contest held in Mumbai, India on Saturday night. Among 112 contestants, Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon secured the first runner-up position in the competition. Pyszková expressed her joy, stating, “Being crowned Miss World is a dream come true. I am deeply honored to represent my country and promote ‘beauty with a purpose’ on a global stage.”

During the coronation ceremony, Karoline Bielawska from Poland, the previous Miss World, passed on the crown to Pyszková, who then greeted the enthusiastic crowd at the Jio World Convention Center and embraced her fellow contestants.

The event provided a splendid showcase of India’s vibrant culture, traditions, heritage, arts, crafts, and textiles to a global audience. The participants adorned themselves in intricately embroidered skirts and blouses while dancing to popular Bollywood songs.

This marked the return of the beauty competition to India after a hiatus of 28 years. Sini Shetty from India reached the final eight but couldn’t proceed further. India has produced six Miss World winners in the past, including Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).

The 71st Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by renowned Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, along with Megan Young from the Philippines, who held the title of Miss World in 2013.
