Family Feud Erupts Over Late Architect Peter Kamya’s Estate

1 Mins read

The legacy of fallen renowned architect Peter Kamya has become the centre of a family dispute, with new shocking revelations about the number of children he fathered and the division of his estate.

According to reports, the celebrated architect, who passed away in December 2022, it appears left behind a family embroiled in a bitter rift that threatens to overshadow the mourning process involving his last funeral rites.

At the time of his demise, his widow, Dr. Margaret Muganwa, disclosed to the public that the architect had left behind five children.

While the whole world had always known that Kamya had a fairly large family; with at least over 10 of his children addressing mourners at his funeral, the widow now claims that she only knows five.

This latest development has thrown the family into turmoil.

Dr Margaret is a sister to Henry Muganwa Kajura, the former First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service.

The most recent development that sowed family discord is the issuance of a certificate of ‘no objection’ which, grants Dr. Muganwa complete control of the estate left by Kamya. This has not been met without opposition from other family members who argue that the decision is unjust.

The 17 children left behind by Kamya are now demanding an equitable distribution of the estate, challenging the widow’s exclusive control. Their plea is centered around their belief that every child should receive a share of the inheritance in accordance with the law.

In a disturbing twist of events, Dr. Muganwa, has insisted on conducting DNA tests on the 12 children whose existence was previously undisclosed. This has only deepened the family feud, with some members viewing the DNA tests as an attempt to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 12 children’s claims to the estate.

However, they insist that her actions and doubts will do nothing to deter them from possessing what they rightly deserve.

Kamya was famous for being the brains behind the iconic Simbamanyo House, now referred to as Gender House on Lumumba Avenue and Afrique Suites in Mutungo.
