We Are Hunting For Terrorists That Killed Tourists In Queen Elizabeth National Park— Police

Uganda Police Force has said they are actively hunting for the terrorists that killed tourists and burnt their van this evening in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Two foreign tourists and a Ugandan van driver were killed and their car burnt beyond recognition.

The incident happened along Katwe Road in Kasese district on October 17, 2023.

“We have registered a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The three were killed, and their safari vehicle burnt. Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” said Police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga on X.

Uganda Wildlife Authority spokesperson, Bashir Hangi said that this is a very terrible incident and a big dent to the tourism sector of Uganda.

“This is not good news for our tourism industry. This is an industry that is just recovering from COVID,” said Hangi.
