Uganda Has Housing Deficit of 2.4 Million Housing Units-Gov’t

Ministry of land,housing and urban development says Uganda has a housing deficit of 2.4 million housing units.

Majority of these live in substandard structures which are worrying and not fit for human habitation.

Dave Kayangayanga, the Director Housing at Ministry Of Lands,Housing and Urban Development,said this at media centre while briefing media

This was a news conference about the Uganda buildcon international expo tobe held from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th August 2022 at UMA show grounds lugogo.

He stated that as the government they are trying to address this challenge.

This exhibition will focus on architecture,construction,building materials,engineering,innovation,interior designs,building automation,heavy equipment,construction machinery,prefabricated structures,safety security and solar products,infrastructure software and tool.

The expo is under theme: connect with the construction industry to build a better tomorrow.

The expo will be graced by Minister of State for Housing , Princess Persis Namuganza.
