Speaker Among, Cuba’s Ambassador Tania Discuss Strengthening K’la – Havana Relations

Uganda’s Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has praised Cuba’s support to Uganda’s health sector especially in humanresource skilling.

Among said this during a meeting with Cuba’s Ambassador to Uganda H.E Tania Perez Xiques on Tuesday morning.

“We are grateful to the Cuban Government for the long term support they have rendered to the School of Medicine at Mbarara University of Science and technology,” Among said.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa.

Cuba’s Ambassador described the meeting as good as the three discussed how to better Havana – Kampala relations.

Uganda and Cuba have, over the past 48 years enjoyed close friendship which have stood the test of time.

The two countries have supported each other at international fora through the Non Allied Movement, G77 and at the UN to defend and protect their strategic political and economic interests and partnerships.
