LOP Mpuuga To Museveni, Cabinet: Learn From Dubai, Don’t Just Tour

1 Mins read

The Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP) Mathias Mpuuga, has challenged President Yoweri Museveni and Cabinet to draw inspiration from the story of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

President Museveni is in the UAE for a 3-day visit that has also seen him take part in the Uganda Day festivities at the Dubai Expo 2020.

“Seeing how M7 & his ministers mesmerised at how the UAE turned a desert into an opportunity and transformed it into a powerful economy that it is today, I was left wondering whether besides touring #Expo2020Dubai they’re picking any lessons,” Mpuiga tweeted.

He added, “Instead of projecting how the livelihoods of our people will be improved, we are in a commitment to divide the country further while they consolidated the UAE into a solid state that it is today.”

The theme of #Expo2020Dubai is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” with three (3) sub-themes – “Mobility”, “Opportunity” and “Sustainability.”

Uganda is participating under the “Opportunity” sub-theme.

Over 192 Countries, Uganda inclusive are participating in this year’s #Expo2020Dubai .

During his working visit to United Arab Emirates, President Museveni is also expected to meet and have bilateral discussions with the leaders of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharja.
