A court in Rwanda has found the former hotel manager who’s credited with saving hundreds of people during the 1994 genocide guilty of terror-related crimes.
Paul Rusesabagina – whose actions inspired the Hollywood movie Hotel Rwanda – boycotted the trial and is not present in the court.
He’s accused of being the mastermind and financier of a rebel group that carried out attacks in Rwanda in 2018 killing at least six people.
The judge is expected to give a lengthy prison sentence to the strong critic of Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame.
Paul Rusesabagina’s family has described the trial as a sham.
