NMS Explains Delay In Delivery of Medicines

National Medical Stores has explained the reasons behind the delay of medicines to some health facilities as earlier scheduled.

The announcement released by NMS yesterday indicated that due to covid 19, the prioritised the supply of PPEs, COVID Vaccines and Vaccines for children.

NMS also revealed that the delivery of medicine to health facilities has since returned to the normal scheduling.

It should be noted that Uganda has been receiving donated vaccines from France, Norway, China and the recent being from USA.

More Vaccines are expected in the country in the coming months and Health minister Hon Jane Ruth Aceng confirmed that 1.6million vaccines of Pfizer are expected at the end of this month.

It is worth noting that the government of Uganda has prioritised the vaccination of teachers since school will son reopen in a staggered manner.

Below are some of the selected centres for vaccination in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono districts.
